engaged // julia & derek // charlotte, north carolina

the first time i met julia, we were lost in conversation for almost four hours.
three coffees later, i knew then that we would be great friends.

when julia first reached out to me, she mentioned they were getting married abroad, but at the time, she was only interested in an engagement session because their plans weren't solidified yet and she wasn't sure if bringing a photographer overseas was part of their plan. i was just excited to hear they loved my work enough to want to work with me so i happily accepted and we went ahead and shot their beautiful session (which i am so excited to share!)

julia has become a close friend and i can't wait to get to know derek even more because these guys are amazing. they have incredible hearts, a wonderful sense of humor and just love each other. so well. i remember asking derek in the car "when did you know you loved julia?" to which he looked at her out of the side of his eye and smiled, "after week three" - you should have seen how happy and surprised she was.

anyway, i've loved every moment spent with my new friends and i can't wait until their beautiful wedding day. because i'm shooting it.

IN IRELAND!!!!!

so, here we go. meet julia and derek. they're the best.

engaged // sara & jordan // clover, south carolina.

where to begin with these two.

somehow, in this big, big world of photography, sara and jordan found me. and i'm so glad they did. it wasn't until sara and i delved into the world of charlotte, north carolina that we realized just how MUCH we had in common! her older brothers went to providence (where i also graduated from) - we have a trillion friends in common in the photo industry, and basically, we're twinzies.

all joking aside, i really can't even put into words how much i love jordan and sara. they're hilarious. they're kind hearted. they're sassy. they're perfect compliments to each other. they know that life is about laughing and loving and not taking things too seriously. they're silly and bold and yeah. just the best. they also scored major bonus points by taking me to japanese after our session. like i said, they're the best.

we had so much fun wandering around jordan's family's awesome farm in clover. i'm not shooting their wedding, but i'm so so happy that they picked me to shoot their engagements. i know they'll cherish these moments we made for a lifetime.

xoxo, love you guyssss.

(also, #sorrynotsorry for the amount of pictures. i couldn't choose!)

wed // holli & cooper // virginia wedding photographer

I knew I loved Holli & Cooper from our initial meeting (which was also their engagement session), way at the beginning of last year. These two are so kind, so warm, so inviting.. they make you feel as if you've known them forever. Cooper with his awesome hugs and Holli with her amazing heart, I just can't say enough about the two of them.

They were married in November of last year and it was a beautiful, beautiful end of fall wedding. Mount Ida is the perfect place to get married in November - not only because of the amazing mountain views, but it fit Holli & Cooper's style perfectly!

My (ever amazing) second shooter, Erica, and I had so much fun being embraced by their guests (and the incredible Mama Matze/Mama Hitching and were even sung Happy Birthday to! (it was my birthday, they totally surprised me!). Since the wedding guests were almost all a cappella singers, there were so many spontaneous concerts and wicked dancers - it was just such a blast from beginning to end.

Holli & Cooper, we love you!!
